Michelle #1

I had a blast shooting Michelle yesterday. Not only is she fun, but she's beautiful as well which makes her extremely easy to photograph! We started shooting in an ally in santa monica for more of a fashion feel before moving on to Malibu for the sunset.

(I am on my way out so I can only post a few of the million pictures we shot~ but I promised Michelle her mom would be able to see them tonight. So hi to Michelle's mom! And to everyone else~ more pictures are promised tomorrow!)

Side note: I'm thinking of adding Michelle to my website. So be sure to comment and tell me which are your fav!

Heads or tails?

Have you ever had one of those days when all the songs running through your head have a familiar theme? Avril Lavigne's "Runaway" and this song by Jo Dee Messina keep playing in my head. On repeat. Maybe it's because I miss my hubby and am desperate need of a date day where all we do is watch movies and cuddle. Maybe it's because its raining and wet and cold outside and I don't own an umbrella. (And I'm sick of looking at my house's inside all day.) Or maybe it is just LA and the traffic ... uhh the traffic. Either way.. I can't get it out of my head. (Granite you would have to switch out the california part. Tails Italy has a nice rhyme to it.. but, seriously, don't you ever just want to get away from it all and go on mental vacation? Margaritas and white sand. Mmm...

Heads, Carolina Tails, California.
Somewhere greener, somewhere warmer.
Up in the mountains, down by the ocean.
Where? It don't matter, as long as we're goin'
Somewhere together. I've got a quarter.
Heads, Carolina Tails, California.

Rain rain go away......
If only I had a cool umbrella, rain boots and a willing model. Or if only it weren't raining. I'm itching to shoot and its dark and gloomy and storming. Oh well.. I guess I'll just bake cookies and watch a movie.
However... if in the next week someone wants to do pictures in the rain and has a willing umbrella let me know! I can't eat cookies forever....

E session!

Meet Rachel and Steve. High school sweethearts. He was afraid to ask her out and almost threw up. First love and adolescent nerves. Oh sweet bliss. To get in the groove we started shooting where it all began. As they walked around the high school they pointed out where he first asked her out... where she first saw him..

I mean really, how cute are they?

Leopard Rosie...

This week. Ohhh this week. So memorable for so many reasons...

I flew to Colorado to hang with the fam and do a few photo shoots. However, no one warned me until I got here (too afraid I would back out probably) that in some places there was 7 feet of snow. That's right. No grammatical error. Feet. I always, always, ALWAYS love a good photo shoot. And of course, I am always down for an adventure. Adventure is what makes photographs memorable. Unique. Lovely. Except in 7 feet of snow. With little people hardly 4 feet tall. So, needless to say, today was fun. The snow had melted a tad, but really, even if it had melted 50% that still means lots and lots of white....

Along with the BLIZZARD on hand, I had two of the most unique kids I've ever photographed.. ( And I say this, in total love. goodness knows the craziest kids I've ever met are Saunder-berry's. Aka family. ) Garrett is the boy. 10 years old and already building working, moving, operable planes with items he find in the house. can we say rocket scientist? And the little girl? Well she was born Makenna haley brook six years ago. In second grade she decided she "needed a change" and decided to tell her whole class to call her Rosie. Rosie Michelle. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone in Durango now ( other then family) that calls her Makenna. She's a Rosie though and though. She also owns piles and piles of leopard print. Leopard rain boots, Leopard coat. Leopard shirts, pants, suits, dresses.. you name it. She owns it. And she owns it with class. She has fashion taste and clearly doesn't care what anyone thinks. The next Chanel perhaps? (ohhh wouldn't that be fab ~ I would discounts on her purse line! )

Little Rosie~ don't you just love the rain boots?

A website, a puppy and flowers...

What kind of flowers? Pink ones.... Okay, so the first two are true. The third is hopeful wishing that my darling hubby will bring me tulips tonight. Hey, its worth a try, right?

Anyways.. back to my story.. when I though today couldn't get any better ( since I have been dreaming of my website for over a year now) I got a call from a friend. This friend had bought a puppy, and then decided she really couldn't take care of it right now. Rewind a week ago when we baby sat the puppy for two days. Lexi Lou fell in love. And since the pup went home, Lex has been sad. Disheartened. Hasn't eaten and pretty much moped around. So I get a text last night. And I texted Ry. And today my Lexi has to be the happiest dog in the world. Her soulmate has returned! She's got a buddy! A best friend for life. And me? I'm pretty excited. The pup is super sweet and a total lap dog.

I'm content. I have a brilliant website. And two awesomely ugly-cute dogs. ( in case you don't know.. this is the phrase that describes the common knowledge that the uglier a dog is.. the cuter it is)

So without further ado ... meet the pup...

He will be about 8- 10 pounds. Is it bad if I don't feed him so he stays forever little? Kidding.... his current name is Montgomery. I'm thinking it may have to be changed to pickle. What do you think?

This is me....

My photo

I am married to an amazing man named Ryan. He is the love of my life and my best friend. As of January 2008 I officially started my own photography business, Beloise Photography. I picked the name because it is something that doesn't exist.... something that i wanted to sum up into a word but couldn't. It is the smell of fresh cut grass and hide and seek in the dark. It is a new pair of fabulous shoes. It is fall and all its glory... starry summer nights. Apple cider and fresh picked flowers. Beloise is all that you taste, touch, see and love dearly. The smells that trigger childhood memory's. All your favorite things in one word. A song that speaks to your soul. Sublime happiness. A field of daisy's. Firefly's. Mistletoe. City lights. The smell of homemade cookies. The first snow.... Beloise is about cherishing life. Savoring the moments. Breathing deeply.... and just living...
